Happy New Year !!
One of the things that I like about the New Year is that I always think about the many wonderful people and great customers we moved during the year and how some of their stories have really inspired me. Having great customers is one of the reasons why I love my job.
Following Their Dreams..
We moved a family that had a beautiful house in Melbourne and were living a good lifestyle when they decided to sell up and buy a macadamia farm in NSW.
When I asked them what made them decide on such a massive change they said that they always wanted to try and live off the land. They were also doing it for their 3 children and were hoping that their new life style would teach them the value of the environment and leading a less materialistic life.
Were they nervous that it wouldn’t work out? They were extremely nervous but that wasn’t going to stop them following their dreams and giving it a go.
Having A Goal..
Then we had a young lady who had just bought her first house. She was moving from a fairly small two bedroom unit that she was renting into a a large 4 bedroom house that was on a large block.
After the job we were having a chat when she mentioned that she had come to Australia 10 years ago as a student. She moved into the same 2 bedroom unit that we had just moved her out of. She met her husband who was also a student during the course of her studies, they both graduated, got good jobs but never moved to a larger place instead opting to save as much money as they could to buy a house.
10 years later they had saved enough money to only have a very small mortgage on their new house and were ready to start a family.
Looking Back..
During the New Year celebrations as I reflected on 2014 I thought about those two families, how friendly and welcoming they were, and how sincere and humble they came across that I felt privileged to meet them and hear their stories.
Thinking about the sacrifice and hard work that they put in made a big impact on me.
Great customers is one of the reasons why we always do our very best. Our customers are starting an exciting and at times nerve wracking transition and we never want to let them down.
