We don’t hand over your belongings to a third party at any point in your move. Your belongings stay with MetroMovers from pick up all the way through till your belongings are safely delivered to your new address.

3. Fast or Flexible Turnaround
Our MetroMovers will load and drive your belongings to your new address to unload. So regional moves usually only take 2 days, while interstate moves can be done in 3 days.

Where can you do regional removals in Victoria and / or New South Wales?

Why do your long distance & interstate removal prices seem so high compared to other quotes?
At MetroMovers, our quote price is all inclusive: it’s the same price as you’ll pay at the end of your move, whereas most cheaper moving companies will only quote the door-to-door moving price at the start to gain your business, then add the hidden extras later.
Plus all our long distance and regional removals are done with our custom designed MetroMovers trucks and with our own, dedicated MetroMoving teams. Most other interstate moving companies will lower their costs by using rail delivery. That means their team will pick up your belongings and deliver them to a railyard where a third party unloads it all and reloads your things onto a train. Then a fourth company will unload it all at the destination and a fifth team of removalists will load it all onto a truck and deliver it to your new address. When you book with other removalist companies, there’s usually a lot of different hands on your belongings!
Does MetroMovers have insurance?
Yes. MetroMovers have solid Public Liability insurance to $20 million underwritten by Zurich, one of the most stable and trusted insurance companies in Australia. If you’re interested in our storage services as well, we recommend that you check with your Home and Contents insurance to confirm if they cover your goods in storage. How long will it take to move my belongings interstate?
Every long distance move has unique requirements, so we couldn’t give you an exact time frame without talking with you first. But as a rough guideline, a straight move between Melbourne and Sydney should take up to 3 business days: one day to pack and load, one day to drive the MetroMovers’ trucks to your new location and a third day to unload and unpack. Call us if you want a more precise time estimate for your particular interstate move requirements.
Do you have a packing & unpacking option?
Yes. Alongside our interstate removalist services, MetroMovers also provide pre-packing and unpacking of boxes either simply to your countertops or arranged into cupboards, shelves and wardrobes. If you are brave enough to take on the packing yourself, we can also supply all your packing boxes and wrapping materials needed to get you to your new property in Victoria or NSW.
Can you store my belongings for a delayed interstate delivery?
You bet. This is a fairly common request. That’s why MetroMovers have our own secure and insured storage facilities in Sydney and Melbourne. So once again, only MetroMovers handles your belongings, even with storage included.
